Support Kennedy Krieger with Team Eileen!

This October I am participating in my first Baltimore Running Festival for Team Kennedy Krieger! I am so grateful to be able to help raise vital funds for rehabilitation programs, in which aggressive, innovative therapies help individuals with disorders and injuries of the brain and spinal cord recover.

began my own recovery from a spinal injury in the spring of 2023. Team Kennedy Krieger is special to me because it provided me with the opportunity to recover and meet the very best therapists!

My spinal cord injury happened after a fall, and involved a fracture and spinal fusion surgery for my C5 vertebra. Thanks to the intensive rehab I received at Kennedy Krieger, both as an inpatient and now with outpatient therapies at the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury, I can walk again and participate in this event to help others. Maybe next year I'll run!

The philosophy of Hope Through Motion helped me succeed at therapy through hard work often structured as fun activities. While recreational activities are often overlooked for individuals with disabilities, Kennedy Krieger recognizes the important benefits—including improved health, self-esteem, social connections and community reintegration—of exercise for its patients.

I appreciate your support as I participate in this amazing fundraising opportunity to help give back. No amount is too small, and every dollar counts towards my goal!
