MCDD ROAR 2021
This spring, the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD) is taking part in the Institute's annual ROAR for Kids. You can make your voice heard as we come together to ROAR for Kids at Kennedy Krieger through a week of virtual events! This year, funds raised will support the work of Project HEAL at the MCDD.
A community-based program of the MCDD at Kennedy Krieger Institute, Project HEAL provides comprehensive advocacy and legal services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are patients at Kennedy Krieger Institute and their families. Project HEAL attorneys collaborate with Kennedy Krieger faculty, staff, and trainees to ensure that patients receive the medical and legal care they need when there is a civil legal issue requiring an attorney.
About ROAR for Kids
As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak and to keep our community safe, ROAR for Kids 2021 is again going to be a virtual fundraising experience, but with some added fun!
As we enter our second year unable to host a traditional event, we approach 2021 with innovation and creativity, bringing to this year new experiences and opportunities! This year, ROAR will be a hybrid event, allowing participants, patients and families to come together online and, for just a moment, in person. ROAR will kick off with a drive-through event for our patients and families to celebrate, followed by a weeklong schedule of virtual events, and ending with our virtual walk/run on Saturday, May 22. Thank you for joining us as we raise much-needed funds for research and programs to help kids at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
