ROAR for Kids 2023

Center for Synaptic Disorders

The Center for Synaptic Disorder focuses on the care of children and adults with complex medical, neurologic, cognitive, and behavioral diagnoses. Persons served include persons with Rett Syndrome, SYNGAP1, SHANK3, SCN2A, SCN1A, KCNQ2, STXBP1, GRIN, GRIA, GABRB and SLC6A1 Related Disorders.

The mission of our program is to improve the lives of individuals with rare synaptic disorders through innovative comprehensive interdisciplinary care. We will accomplish this by combining deep phenotyping with advanced techniques in neuroimaging, omics and biomedical engineering to develop diagnostic tools, biomarkers, aide with the development of novel therapeutics and promote the well-being of children and their families by providing innovative evidence-based care.

The monies raised will be distributed equally and used to support research and help families cover health care costs.
