ROAR for Kids 2023

Team Diego

This team is in honor and memory of Diego Mateo Farnsworth

We need your support!

This spring, we are participating in Kennedy Krieger Institute's annual ROAR for Kids in memory of Diego Mateo Farnsworth. Diego was born on September 10, 2015, and passed away on January 25, 2023, after an 18-month fight to recover from a devastating spinal cord injury that resulted in paralysis. Diego was admitted to Kennedy Krieger in October 2021 and discharged on November 2, 2022. Diego is known by his family, friends, nurses, therapists, and doctors as a very loving, resilient, and engaging 7-year-old child who was always in a happy mood despite his challenges.

Diego spent a year as a patient at Kennedy Krieger in Baltimore, Maryland. During this time, he worked hard with therapists to get strong and healthy to come home. Most days began in the spine gym, followed by school and time in the playroom. He enjoyed singing to music, blowing bubbles, playing games and "Dr. Diego," celebrating Christmas, and making arts and crafts.

Please join us in thanking Kennedy Krieger Institute and honoring the memory of Diego by joining our team or donating in Diego's honor. We appreciate your support as we participate and raise funds for Kennedy Krieger Institute, a world premier institution dedicated to improving the lives of children and young adults with care and research focused on pediatric developmental disabilities and disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system.

Please also feel free to share this fundraiser with anyone interested in supporting Kennedy Krieger.

Thank you.
